Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Spendly ("the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Eligibility

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the app. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
• You may use the app as a guest without an account, subject to these Terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app, other users' data, or our systems
• Interfere with, disrupt, or reverse engineer the app except where permitted by law
• Upload content that infringes the rights of others or that you do not have the right to share

Your content and data

You retain ownership of the financial data and content you enter. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit that content solely to operate the app and provide the features you use (including cloud sync and AI-assisted parsing). You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for keeping your own backups where important.

Shared groups

When you share a group, you are choosing to disclose the relevant expenses, splits and your display name to the other members of that group. You are responsible for who you invite. We are not responsible for how other members use information you choose to share with them.

Subscriptions and billing

• Premium features require a paid subscription, sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period end.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your app store account settings. Refunds are governed by the applicable app store's policies.
• Prices and features may change; we will give notice as required by law and the app stores.

AI-assisted features

AI-based parsing (voice, receipt and message parsing) is provided to assist you and may produce inaccurate or incomplete results. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any AI-generated entries before relying on them. AI output does not constitute financial advice.

No financial advice

The app is a tool for personal expense tracking. It does not provide financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Decisions you make based on information in the app are your own responsibility.

Availability

We aim to keep the app available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features that depend on connectivity or third-party services (sync, notifications, cloud AI) may be unavailable at times. The core app is designed to remain usable offline.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or where required by law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
